For moderate variations, there will always be a fair amount of condensate present. The presence of the condensate slows down the steam. Therefore, the steam loss in very small and the SteamPro will work at 99.5% ++ efficiency. In scientific terms, SteamPros work under the principal of two-phase flow. However, to take advantage of the two-phase flow, the SteamPro should not be allowed to work with the condensate rate of less than 25 ~ 30% of the device capacity. Proper sizing is important. Steam traps can tolerate huge oversizing and adjust very well. Unfortunately, they are sluggish and may lose a large amount of live steam when failed open.
